President's Award in Teaching
Dr. CHAN Hing-lin

Associate Professor

Department of Economics
School of Business

Dr. Chan is a highly respected and dedicated teacher who keeps on his untiring efforts towards teaching excellence. He is committed to the development and experiment of innovative teaching methods. Students are much impressed by his methodical and inspiring approach in teaching mathematics and statistics for economists particularly. He is willing to spend time with students, caring about their professional development as well as personal growth. To excel in his teaching, Dr. Chan regularly reviews his pedagogies, designs workable teaching plans and devise effective measures to facilitate students' learning process. With a profound knowledge of the discipline, he is known to be good at explaining abstract concepts, often incorporating practical live examples in his teaching materials. No wonder students find Dr. Chan very successful in changing their misconception about the quantitative nature of economics and in instilling them the right attitude to learn those foundation economics subjects.
