Dr. Tang is a theoretical physicist who has high aspiration as well as the abilities and potential to do top-notch research. He has all along maintained a good momentum in his scholastic advancement, and is an active researcher on the forefront of science. Dr.Tang has published 60 papers, including journal articles, reviews and conference articles. One-third of his journal articles were published in the Physical Review Letters, the most prestigious journal in physics, and this testifies to the high quality of Dr. Tang's research. Another indicator of the remarkable quality of Dr. Tang's research is the high number of citations his work has received in the Science Citation Index, totaling 1,579 citations, with 760 citations as first author and 819 citations as co-author. Dr. Tang is characterized by his originality, modesty, broad interests, strong analytical and numerical skills, deep physical insights, and complete dedication to science. His research is now moving into the hot and promising area of biological physics. He is collaborating with the leading experts in this field and is interacting actively with colleagues in biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics departments.
