Dr. Mak is committed to the philosophy of whole person education. To him, teaching is not only to equip his students with skills and knowledge, but more importantly, to let them acquire a sense of value for whole person development. He prepares well for his classes, constantly integrating updated information into his teaching materials. For each subject that he teaches, thorough lecturing materials will be prepared for distribution to students at the beginning of the semester to ensure their understanding of the learning objectives, major points/details to be covered for each individual topic, and supplementary readings required. Video aid is employed to positively motivate students' learning and interests on the topics. For this, Dr. Mak has acquired and produced over a thousand color slides/transparencies for his lectures. Dr. Mak's care for his students is reflected in his taking the initiative to arrange special small group tutorial for students with weaker academic capabilities in a particular subject. Dr. Mak's dedication to teaching is rewarded by consistently high teaching evaluation scores and excellent comments given by his students, who have high regard for their teacher.
