Prof. Chan has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Department of Marketing in his capacity as the Department Head for the past 12 years. Under his leadership, colleagues in the Department have been making good progress in all aspects of work in a cohesive working environment. In addition, Prof. Chan serves as the Associate Dean of the School of Business. He has also taken up the role as co-ordinator of the School's focused research area of China Business in the International Context and the MBA classes in China. In this regard, he devotes a lot of efforts in developing the strategic area of China business studies programme, and actively participates in course planning, curriculum design, and coordination of teaching teams. He has initiated a number of innovative activities to the MBA programme which have been well received by both the students and the public, and are important in maintaining the School's competitiveness in the MBA market. On top of the above, Prof. Chan serves as member to many School and University committees. His tireless contribution to service both the School and the University at large is highly commendable and commands respect from all who have worked with him.
