Enjoying a good relationship with students and getting along well with his colleagues, Dr. Ng is described as a friendly and helpful teacher. His contributions within the University span all levels. At the University level, he is the Chairman of the Web Subcommittee, and a member of the IT Committee and IT User Subcommittee. At the Faculty and Departmental level, he has made invaluable contributions to IT matters in serving as the Chairman of some and member to a number of committees/teams. Dr. Ng is equally active in professional service. He is currently a Senior Member of IEEE, and the Chairman of IEEE HK Section, Computer Chapter. He is a key member in the organizing and programme committee in two to three international computer science conferences each year, and is the Associate Editor for one and regular reviewer for several established international journals. In recent years, he is heavily engaged in discussions on IT issues in Hong Kong, and is regularly called upon as an external examiner, course validation panel member, external assessor for academic appointment. His contributions in diversified scopes both within and outside the University indeed deserve due recognition.
