Since joining the University in 1981, Prof. Chan Wing-hong has established a proven record of being a caring, outstanding and dedicated teacher, and a committed educator harbouring an unfailing enthusiasm in establishing excellent teaching programmes and setting off new initiatives in enhancing teaching quality. Over the years, Prof. Chan has made consistent contributions to the design and fine-tuning of the Chemistry programme, leading new faculty members to develop new subjects/curriculum/ programmes, and initiating and arranging industrial visits and internship programmes for students. His commitment to enhancing teaching quality extends beyond the University to include the local education arena. He has built a close collaborative network with the Education and Manpower Bureau and the Environmental Campaign Committee in organizing activities, such as training workshops, for secondary school teachers and student leaders. Prof. Chan’s contribution to teaching at both the University and community levels will undoubtedly cast a lasting impact on shaping the intellectual minds of our future generations.
