Dr. Jiang Zhi-hong is an expert in Natural Products Chemistry and Chemical Analysis of Chinese Materia Medica. Within a short span of four years since he joined the University in 2001, Dr. Jiang has published more than 30 SCI papers in international journals, demonstrating his vast potential of emerging as a leading scientist in his field. Dr. Jiang's ongoing research focuses on the chemistry of Chinese Materia Medica, the elucidation of the molecular mechanism of nucleic acids (DNA, RNA)-targeting pharmacologically-active constituents in Chinese Materia Medica, and the seeking of lead compounds for new drug discovery from Chinese medicinal herbs. His success in biding a substantial number of research grants, amounting to more than HK$4.2 million, over the past few years is evident of his outstanding performance in research/scholarly work.
