An active member of the Department and the Faculty, Dr. Tong Chong-sze involves heavily in course development and departmental review, and has successfully demonstrated his leadership in this regard. He often represents the Department in the development of new Mathematics programmes with other departments and external bodies, including the Education Department. A selfless colleague, Dr. Tong often volunteers to shoulder additional duties despite his heavy teaching and research workload. He has served on a number of committees at the departmental, faculty and university level. Dr. Tong's close bond with the students has prompted many students, especially borderline students, to turn to him for counsel on both academic and personal issues - a task he gladly undertakes. His role as "Resident Master" of S R Zhou Hall is yet another example of his fervent desire to serve the students and the University. Dr. Tong's enthusiasm and commitment to serving the Department, Faculty and the University is truly commendable.
